I did not come to yoga through a typical path. My journey wound through the halls of Congress, the boardrooms of private equity, and the construction sites of affordable housing developments. I spent years working on policy, analyzing real estate investments, and building communities alongside my father.
Somewhere along the way, between the spreadsheets and the strategy sessions, I discovered that the most important work was happening inside me. Yoga became my anchor - a practice that helped me stay grounded while navigating high-pressure environments and complex challenges.
I realized that transformation is not just about building housing or bridging digital divides. It starts within.
That realization changed everything. I pursued my yoga certification not to leave behind my other work, but to integrate it more fully. Today, I bring all of who I am to my teaching - the policy analyst who understands systems, the artist who values creativity, and the mother who knows the importance of presence.
When I guide a class, I draw on everything I have learned: the discipline from working on Capitol Hill, the precision from private equity, the patience from creating art, and the unconditional love I feel for my son Asher. All of it informs how I hold space for my students.
