Our Commitment
At Arielle Nash Yoga, accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that wellness is a right, not a privilege, and that includes making our website, classes, and services accessible to all people, regardless of ability.
We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.
"Every body is a yoga body."
This principle guides not only how I teach, but how I design every aspect of my practice - from the physical studio space to this website.
Website Accessibility
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. Our ongoing accessibility efforts include:
- Keyboard Navigation: Our website can be navigated using only a keyboard
- Screen Reader Compatibility: We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels to support screen readers
- Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios for text readability
- Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alt text for screen reader users
- Resizable Text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
- Clear Navigation: Consistent and predictable navigation throughout the site
- Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels for assistive technology
In-Person Class Accessibility
Our physical yoga spaces and classes are designed to be welcoming and accessible:
- Adaptive Yoga: All classes include modifications for different abilities and mobility levels
- Props Available: Blocks, straps, bolsters, and chairs are available to support all practitioners
- Trauma-Informed Approach: We use invitational language and respect personal boundaries
- Seated Options: Chair yoga modifications are offered in every class
- Sensory Considerations: We are mindful of lighting, music volume, and scent sensitivities
- Service Animals: Service animals are welcome in all our classes and spaces
Please contact us before your first class to discuss any specific accommodations you may need. We are happy to work with you to ensure a comfortable and beneficial experience.
Virtual Class Accessibility
Our virtual offerings are designed with accessibility in mind:
- Multiple Viewing Options: Classes can be joined via computer, tablet, or smartphone
- Audio Descriptions: Verbal cues describe all poses and movements clearly
- Flexible Participation: Camera-on or camera-off participation is always welcome
- Recording Availability: Select classes may be recorded for later viewing (with notice)
- Chat Function: Participants can communicate via chat if preferred over audio
Economic Accessibility
Financial circumstances should never prevent anyone from practicing yoga. We offer:
- Sliding Scale Pricing: Pay-what-you-can options for all group classes
- Free Community Classes: Complimentary classes for residents of Nash Group affordable housing communities
- Scholarship Options: Available for those who need additional support
- No Documentation Required: We trust you to choose the rate that reflects your situation
